Readers’ Workouts

The Readers’ Workouts meme is hosted at Joy’s Book Blog.   This is a place to share exercise successes and challenges.

I’m back (again).  I don’t know how many more times I need to say that to myself.

My blogging habits have been very very poor, but I can say that for the most part my gym attendance has not followed suit.  But for the last two weeks – when I’ve been sick and then took a short trip up to Minneapolis to watch my nephew play hockey – I’ve been at the gym on average 3 times a week and working pretty hard while I’m there.

Today was my first visit after a two week absence so my endurance was a little rusty but I went and that is the main thing.  At my doctor’s appointment the other day I once again received “the talk” about my weight, of course not anything I didn’t already know but the external nudge is reminding me that it is me and only me who can make the necessary changes.

  1. I’m glad the talk has you motivated! Wait until you get the one after you’ve lost some of the weight — best doctor’s visit ever!

    I always struggle with getting back into the swing of things after I’ve been out of town. I’m beginning to accept that it takes a lot of structure and strategy to make that happen, even when I know it’s what I want — apparently, just desire isn’t enough. I need appointments with myself (or someone else), goals in place, and tools to make things happen.
