No, my birthday isn’t today, but it is in the coming week; and though I really am too old to care about birthdays, I am excited. I already have received a few cards which I have been forbidden to open until the day, so there is that anticipation. What I’m really looking forward to this year, though is when I talk to my niece for her birthday (which falls on the same day) I will be telling her that I’m visiting in October and taking her to see Justin Bieber in concert (she’s 6 and she is all about the Biebs) — hopefully we can connect via Skype so I can see her reaction.
I don’t know how Auntie Sue will handle the concert, but I remember that I had a thing for Donny Osmond at that age and probably would have given anything to see him in concert.
I feel like I have been in a reading slump this week. The books I’m reading, The Betrayal by Helen Dunmore, and Double Cross by Ben Macintyre, are ok but they aren’t holding my interest for me to read any length of time. I’ve not far to go with The Betrayal, so I’ll see it through to the end, but I might put Double Cross aside for now and search for some lighter subject material for my next read.
